Make and model
Lee Jackson GP1000/SP1000, VHT 2/90/2, Pepers DT, ESPMM04
Description
Some captures I made on Valentines day 2024. Various combinations of boosting and not boosting the GP1000 into VHT 2/90/2 and Lee Jackson SP1000 poweramps. Also included are preamp captures and poweramp captures separately. Important to note: The GP1000 is NOT a high gain amp. Do not expect to sound like Alexi/Zakk just because it's the same gear. You will probably need to up the gain a lot, and you will need to find the right IR/EQ, etc. It's very mid forward and has almost no low end at all and may disappoint you initially. This video does a really great job of explaining this preamp (this isn't my video): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G3I9syDw7h4 Next time maybe I will try some full captures! The SP1000 is hard to capture because it's a high distortion poweramp, and the dirty trees is noisy as well. So for the DT + poweramp captures, I have also included a "heavy" model with better ESR than the standard. Note that the "heavy model" version takes 2x the CPU. To me it's not worth it as the sound is nearly identical, but thought I would include it anyway. - Suhr RL - 12.2 dBu - ESP mm04 guitar preamp (same as Alexi) ran in front for the mm04 labeled captures Not too much point to list settings here, since the GP1000 really only has one sound regardless. The VHT is on presence "in" mode and max depth to get as much low end as I could. Due to presence "in", it's brighter than my other set also. If you want to boost the unboosted caps (works very well btw), check out the Dirty Trees captures I made! #20 is about the same settings I used in these captures (bass 2.5, treble 3.5, TC mode) https://tonehunt.org/northern_fox/abfb0ad9-4bcf-4905-be36-531db875ea53 --------------------- Some additional captures can be found here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1b1yEO8Izirl5D5dl6wH6B4Y5C6X2ARmw?usp=drive_link Sound isn't that different so I didn't include them
