Peavey VTM 60, Pro Tone Gary Holt MidBoost, Boss SD-1W, Kuro PhA, MXR M77, Duncan SD805

Description

I attempted to dial my Peavey VTM 60 to sound similar to Gary Holt's tone on the newest album Persona Non Grata. I used a similar signal chain to what he described as what he used for the album - an overdrive pedal into his signature Mid Boost pedal into a modded Marshall. All dip switches on the VTM 60 were engaged except for Low 2 and Mid. If you listen to the album, there is a brighter tone on one side and a darker tone on the other. Because of this I included 4 levels of brightness for each of the 4 different boost options, for a total of 16 models. When playing just a single guitar, the Mids options are usually the most balanced sounding.
