Mesa/Boogie 2:90 Simul-Class

Description

This is a poweramp only capture set, you require another neural amp modeler instance to insert preamp simulations in front of it to get the standard preamp/poweramp experience. This capture pack is based on a Mesa/Boogie 2:90 poweramp with four matched and newly installed TAD Redbase 6L6GCM power tubes. My previous 2:90 captures were made with the other half of the poweramp that features four matched TAD Redbase 6L6WGC power tubes. The 6L6WGC power tubes generate a bit more mids and less bottom end than the 6L6GCM tubes. Very high quality 1200 epochs standard training captures with very low ESR numbers. Made with the V3 Test Signal and the 0.8.1 trainer. Signal Chain: Apollo X8 -> Walrus Audio Canvas Reamp Box -> Mesa/Boogie 2:90 6L6GCM Poweramp -> Suhr Reactive Load Signal Chain Calibration: +12.4 dBu First number denotes the master volume level and the second number denotes the presence setting. I also included a master volume *13* setting, that was acquired by cranking the output knob on the Walrus Canvas Reamp box, so that the output wasn't the usual 0.5 Volts but 1.23 Volts instead. The poweramps master volume was set to 10 for the *13* captures. D stands for "Deep Mode" activation (fixed depth boost circuit) and M stands for "Modern Mode", MD captures have both modes engaged. In order to calibrate the input gain correctly for poweramp captures, you should first adjust the input gain so that it takes care of your own max input gain value. Once that is established, see what level's your guitar generates by going straight into the Hi-Z input of your audio interface. That's the level that your preamp capture should deliver optimally so that the poweramp sees the same input gain with which it was trained to begin with.
