Here is a pack with models of a Build Your Own Clone DOD 250 grey spec clone, with gain from 0 to 10. I built this pedal myself about 12 years ago – my first one - I put it on my pedalboard, and it never went off! It is simply my favourite for low to medium overdrive tones. Technically, one could say this is a distortion, as the diodes clip to ground (hard clipping), but DOD labeled this as a preamp. I just think of it as an overdrive, and a very transparent one. At low gain levels, it has the flattest EQ curve I have ever seen in a pedal (checked with the free Bertom EQ curve analyzer). At higher gain settings, bass is a bit increased, and the curve gets a bit more wobbly. Also, it is far away from the compressed sound of a tube screamer, and the sound is ballsy and open. I like this pedal very much ifor boosting a clean or edge of breakup amp, and I live on the lower gain settings. It goes along nicely with different guitars and amps too, so it's pretty much an allrounder, but I like it the most with single coils. With humbuckers, it could use some bass rolloff, depending on the amp it runs into. Technical: Reamped with a Palmer Trave at 12,1 dBu Trained at 200 epochs in standard mode ESR in the range of 0,0007 to 0,002 If you like it and use it, it is possible to support me at buymeacoffee.com/tkvellen Hope you have fun with this!
