VOX AC30 CCH

Description

Here comes a large set of profiles of the VOX AC30 CCH. Both channels are captured and profiled. The normal channel has the great feature of a brilliance mode, and both modes are captured here, with the volume/preamp gain settings of 2,5 – 3 – 4 – 5 – 6,5 and 8. I find this channel great for crunch and overdriven sounds, especially in the brilliant mode. If you find the normal channel dark, try it with a treble booster in front (Brian May might stop by...). The Top Boost channel is captured at different gain settings: 1,5 – 2 – 2,5 – 3 – 4 and 5. I wanted to focus more on the clean sounds for this channel, through edge of breakup to crunch and then some. I found it did not sound as good with the preamp higher than 5, so I dropped those. The Top Boost channel is captured with 3 EQ settings: BRT (bright) has the classic VOX setting of bass 4 and treble at 6. Nice for Les Pauls and similar guitars! BAL (balanced) has bass at 4,5 and treble at 5,5. Most guitars should sound goos at this setting. MID has bass at 3,5 and treble at 2,5. Going that low on the dials brings out more of the mids, so this should be a handy alternative to the other settings. And try this with a bright tele! All of the standard captures are done with the master volume at 7,5. I initially wanted to capture with the master fully open, but it became a bit to hairy, and the ESR on high drive settings were not that good. So I landed on 7,5. Also, all captures are done both with the Cut at 0 and 6. If you would want it dialed in differently, just apply a low pass filter after the amp instance, or wherever you see fit. Is there more? Yes there is! My good friend Bob Guido has kindly helped me to tune this beast. Bob's suggestions and input has been important for the creation of this set (as it also were for my two sets of the DC30). So he has four specials in this pack: Bob G BRT and Bob G BAL, and EoB versions of the same. Master and EQ was dialed in slightly different for these, but they are close to their standard version equivalents. Technical: Reamplevel is 12,1 dBu, captured trouhg a Palmer Trave reampbox and Torpedo Captor 8 loadbox. DI profiles only. Trained at 600 epochs in standard mode. Now I could go on about AC30's and EL84 amps forever. But now it's time to play! And don't forget to use that normal channel, it's beautiful as you crank it!
