Make and model
Browne Amplifaction Browne Protein Overdrive
Description
This is the pedal the "old fella" at church kept pointing me towords when I was asking about tone. After seeing it on more then one board I thought I'd make a model of it. This is a dual overdrive, so two different cuircuts that are desiged to be stacked with pleasing results. Enjoy! The Green side cascades into the Blue side when both drives are on, so opening two instances of NAM can replicate this. Technical stuff: After some testing I found that there are only 2 non-linear knobs, Hence, they have been modeled each at 6 different steps. (12 models in total—6 of the blue side, and 6 of the green side. they were recorded to peak at -6dB, then gain matched using LUFS (integated) before running models all at least sub 0.003 ESR (most alot better)! THE TONE KNOBS: These are esentially tilt eq/ super broad high selfs (they don't affect anything below 200hz). To achive the some effect place a high self at `~5800hz with an extreamly broad width so a 12db boost will look fairly linear untill around 500hz, while ignoring everything below 200hz. IMPORTANT: the Tone knob is at 12 oclock (in the models), hence, between -12dB and +12dB on your EQ you can achihve the full range of the tone knobs. REAPER REAEQ: freq: 5850Hz bandwidth: 4.00 LOGIC stock EQ: freq: 5850Hz Q factor: 0.10 EXTRA FOR THOSE FAMILIA WITH THE PEDAL: if you would like to fully replicate the work flow of the pedal—simply open the following plugins (in this order): NAM (GREEN SIDE) — EQ (with high shelf) — NAM (BLUE side) — EQ (with high shef) Gain and Drive knobs: Different Models Level knobs: output gain in NAM Tone knobs: High shelf gain ranging from -12 to +12 dB Hope you enjoy, Cheers.
