Vox AC15C1

Description

The Vox AC15C1 Top Boost Channel was generally captured at 7 volume levels between 9:00 and max. I focused on 7 Treble/Bass settings, and 3 Cut settings. The EQ is dialed rather conservatively, but should provide enough range to match specific album tones. The amp’s master volume was cranked. These captures are Standard models and trained at 800 Epochs. Signal Chain: DIYRE L2A Reamp - Vox AC15C1 - Suhr Reactive Load - Steinberg UR824 set at 11.5dBu The Top Boost Channel overdrives quicker on the volume dial than the Normal Channel. 9:00 on the volume is clean with a Strat, while 10:00 starts to get a little hairier. The volume at 12:00 to 2:00 provides mid-gain drive. At 3:00 and up, the amp is distorted enough for more aggressive tones. I noticed that typical bright settings from other users were around 12:00. I captured settings at Minimum and 2:00 for when I want a brighter or darker tone respectively. I tried dialing tones AC30-ish using my Weber Blue Dog IRs with varying success (see linked video): You can use Celestion Alnico Blue, Greenback, or G12H30 IRs for typical tones.
