Description
Once upon a time, I stumbled upon a Reverb user selling the "guts" to an EJ fuzz face for cheap. It was missing the enclosure and the Fuzz pot, but the rest was intact. I bought it, hardwired a resistor in place of the fuzz pot, and stuffed it into a small empty enclosure from an old phaser. The result is an EJ fuzz that is super compact, has only one knob for Volume, can use a 9V adapter, and looks like hell but sounds fantastic. Even though they all have the same "amount" of fuzz because of the fixed resistor, changing the position of the volume knob did change the response character. So the captures all sound alike, but feel slightly different to play through. My favorite is the lowest volume setting, #01. Woofy and vintage. 5.2
