ReAmping Test - 3 Methods Compared

Description

ReAmping Test - 3 Methods Compared The same amp, at two gain levels, ReAmped three different ways to test and compare the results. I chose the Epiphone Valve Jr because it's a simple one knob amp, to minimize errors and variables, I also reasoned that lower gain breakup and cleanish sounds would allow people to test "touch" "feel" and amp response better. The captures are at Gain 20% and Gain 50% and all were done in the same session one after the other. One pair of captures are the amp into a Vintage 30 loaded Marshall 2x12, with a Whirlwind Director DI (set to speaker level) tapping the signal between amp and cab. No attenuation. The second method is the amp into a Two Notes Captor 16 Ohm with no cab connected. XLR out at 40%, No cab emulation was applied. The third method is the amp into the Captor 16, but with the Marshall 2x12 attached to the -20dB Attenuated output. The Captor XLR out is at 40%, No cab emulation was applied. The fourth pair of captures are the amp into a Vintage 30 loaded Marshall 2x12, But I replaced the Whirlwind Director DI with a Countryman Type 85 Active DI (set to speaker level) tapping the signal between amp and cab. No attenuation. **NOTE: I redid all captures and training in an effort to eliminate a volume discrepancy that may have biased the outcome, it's better but still not totally even, so please level match as part of your testing. I also added the fourth pair with the Countryman DI, which is a very highly regarded DI Box. Results and reveal in the NAM Facebook Group related post. https://www.facebook.com/groups/neuralampmodeler/posts/6345175365531233 *************************************************** ***************SPOILERS BELOW**************** *************************************************** *************************************************** *************************************************** A - Two Notes Captor 16 only. No Cab. B - Captor with Cab on the -20dB Att. output. C - Countryman Di between amp and Cab. D - Whirlwind Di between amp and Cab.
