VOX Bruno TB18C1
Description
NOTA: On my rig, to get the same gain feel as captured, I push NAM input gain to +15db. This is an 18W all tube combo, designed by Tony Bruno manufactured by Vox. Presented at NAMM 2012 this amp is now discontinued and hard to find. The amp uses 6V6 tubes and sounds closer to a Fender than a Vox (it sounds somewhere between both, not totally a fender, not totally a Vox). Vox purists will argue that 6V6 in a Vox amp is blasphemy (probably why it ended discontinued) but it sounds so sweet for clean edge of breakup tones. Use for blues, country, rock... The capture contains various gain stages from clean to dirty using Hi and Low inputs. Contains 4 different IRs of the cab done with a SM57 from center to edge using a MOTU 624 preamp and converters. The amp was equipped with all new Tung-Sol tubes 2x 12AX7 + 2x 6V6GT.
