Telefunken Caprice
Description
Telefunken Caprice FM old transistor radio from 1971, made in Brazil. This was the first hardware hacking project I did when I started messing with electronics in a self-taught manner. The only task here was finding the right spot behind the volume (gain) knob to solder a jack in there and use the radio as a guitar amp. You can use any audio source with this profile, for example if you want an old radio sound playing a piano ragtime, or can use it actually as lo-fi saturated amp for guitar. This is raw, so I recommend trying eq before and inside NAM, as well as trying different input levels. The only post-processing was cleaning the background noise, which was unbearable and would have made this thing much less usable. I hope I had this done when I used that radio in a recent production. This is a full rig, captured by a KEL HM-2D condenser microphone. Have fun! You can support my work by donating here: https://www.paypal.com/donate/?business=QY7JT5DWJB7NA&no_recurring=1¤cy_code=BRL
