Orange Dual Terror

Description

Arlington Audio - Neural Amp Modeler pack ------------------------------------------ Created with trainer version 0.5.2. Normalization is supported. Pack updated for consistent trainer level. Orange Dual Terror These little guys are what started the lunchbox form factor and pretty much got it right on the first go with the original Tiny Terror. The Dual Terror is the same circuit with a 30w power section bolted onto it and a second "fat" channel added which is slightly higher in gain and more mid-forward. This was my first all tube amp and I've had it for just over 10 years. For its simplicity, it's incredibly capable and can do almost all aspects of the Orange sound super well. For this pack, the amp only Volume controls were set to 8 for a touch of power amp saturation at higher gain levels and 10 for the Tone controls. The boosted captures are more random and set to what works best for the boosts used. For consistency, I used a few Jens Bogren impulse responses as well as my own to ensure that the captures sound great across a range of impulse responses (these IR's are not included) Technical details: Captures: 70 @ 1000 Epochs per capture. Amp: Orange Dual Terror Channels: Tiny Terror and Fat Channel (at 15w and 30w) Peak: ~3.5db (average) Load Box: Suhr Reactive Load Interface: RME Fireface UFXII Reamp Box: Radial Pro RMP (Level modified) Referenced with Event Opal monitors, Sonarworks and Jens Bogren impulse responses (not included) Boosts used (3 captures each of settings that work well with this amp): Ulbrick Phat Axe (MK I) Boss Heavy Metal HM-2 Boss Metal Zone MT-2 Boss Overdrive OD-1 Boss Super Overdrive SD-1 Boss Distortion DS-1 Ibanes Tubescreamer TS9 RYRA Klone Electro Harmonix Big Muff Tone Wicker Korg Parametric EQ (set to 500hz bell, +5db) As an experiment, I also used the following preamps as dirty boosts using the routing available in the RME hardware. Golden Age Pre-73 MK III (driven pretty hard, HP2 and AIR2) Avalon VT737 Stuff people have requested: -10dBFS sine tone at 400Hz from DAW -> AC RMS reading of **2.15v** at the 1/4" plug after reamp box. 10^(-10/20) = 0.3162 **2.15**/0.3162 = 6.799 20log(6.799/0.775) = **18.86 dBu** If your interface has 12dBu instrument inputs: 18.86-12 = 6.86, you have to LOWER the input in NAM Plugin to -6.86 dB for the capture to sound correct. While I offer my libraries for free, donations would be appreciated and will go towards expanding this library 🥹 https://paypal.me/arlingtonaudio 🥹
