Custom 2x10 with V10
Description
IRs made from my custom-built, small-size 2x10 closed-back cabinet made of lightweight 3/4" kiln dried pine. It is loaded with two 8ohm Celestion Vintage 10 speakers mounted diagonally and wired in parallel. Please note, these are the original 20+year old VINTAGE 10 speakers, NOT the modern "V10" speakers. Four different close mics were used to capture both the upper and lower speakers; R121, SM57, MD421, and i5, mic'd in the following positions: -Cap=center of the cap -Cap Edge=edge of the cap where it meets the cone -Cone=midpoint of the cone halfway between cap and cone edge -Cone Edge=edge of the cone right next to the baffle Two distant mics were also used; C414, and M160, both mic'd at the center of the cabinet at distances of 12" and 24" Mics were powered by Universal Audio 2-610 mic pres, passed through HCL Varis Tube Vari-Mu compressor for color, and into RME Fireface converters.
